    Peruvian Spice

    About Us

Hi, I’m Anny — and if you’ve landed here, you probably share the same obsession I do: really, really good food.

I started Peruvian Spice because I fell in love with Peruvian cuisine and couldn’t stop talking about it. Every dish I tried had layers of flavor I had never experienced before — the tang of lime in ceviche, the warmth of aji amarillo, the crispy satisfaction of chicharrón. I wanted to share that excitement with people who hadn’t discovered it yet.

So I built this space. A place where anyone — whether you’re an experienced cook or someone who’s never made a Peruvian dish in your life — can explore this incredible cuisine and feel confident doing it.

    Why Peruvian Food?

Peruvian cuisine is one of the most underrated food cultures in the world. It blends indigenous Andean traditions with Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and African influences — and the result is something completely unique.

When I first tried lomo saltado, I couldn’t believe that one dish could combine stir-fry technique with Peruvian spices and serve it over rice AND fries at the same time. It sounds like it shouldn’t work. It absolutely does.

That’s Peruvian food. Bold, creative, deeply rooted in tradition, and endlessly surprising.

    What You’ll Find Here

    On Peruvian Spice, I share:

Recipes — Step-by-step guides for classic Peruvian dishes, written the way I’d explain them to a friend. No unnecessary fluff, just clear instructions that actually work in a home kitchen.

Ingredient Guides — Peruvian cooking uses some ingredients you might not be familiar with yet — like aji amarillo, huacatay, or choclo. I break these down so you know exactly what to look for and how to use them.

Food Culture — The stories behind the dishes. Because knowing why a dish exists makes it taste even better when you finally eat it.

Restaurant Guides — If you’re visiting Peru or want to know where to find authentic Peruvian food near you, I’ve got recommendations and tips.

    A Little More About Me

I’ve spent years cooking, researching, and writing about Peruvian cuisine. I’ve tested these recipes in my own kitchen — many of them multiple times — until I got them right. I don’t share something here unless I’d happily make it again myself.

I’m not a professional chef. I’m someone who loves food deeply and believes that home cooking should be joyful, not stressful. My recipes are written for real people with real kitchens.

If you ever have questions, want to share how a recipe turned out, or just want to talk food — my contact page is always open. I genuinely love hearing from readers.

Thank you for being here. I hope Peruvian Spice becomes your go-to place for everything Peruvian food.

    — Anny
